Frequently Asked Questions
Purchasing & Using Credits
How do I purchase credits?
Just like buying anything else! Pay online and watch your credits get added to your account in your Client Portal. We accept credit cards, bank transfers, and some international payment systems.
Having credits in your account is a requirement to request projects, so we do not accept payments in arrears. Sorry!
Do credits roll over?
Yes! You just can't hoard them ;)
Monthly: Credits roll over with a 140% credit cap on your account. For example, if you're subscribed to 30 credits per month, the most you can hold is 42 credits. Credits don't expire for as long as your plan is active!
One-time: Up to 10 Credits roll over from month to month. Credits expire after 4 months of inactivity.
How many credits can I use per month?
Use up to 60 credits per month. Very large-scale projects are broken up over multiple months if needed.
How much can I get done within each pack?
Tasks range from 1 to 22 credits depending on their complexity. The median task is 6 credits. Large scopes with multiple tasks like a full website build can range from 60 to 100.
Current clients can use our Project Planner to look up projects and estimate credits for future design needs.
What if I need more or less credits than are offered?
If you are a current client and need less credits than {{1-name}}:
- Since credits roll over*, we suggest looking at the Starter Pack to have credits banked whenever you need. That said, you can pay per credit if needed.
If you need more credits than {{4-name}}:
- You can use up to 60 credits per month — this ensures prompt delivery and that everyone gets high quality work and attention.
* Subject to account limits.
Pausing & Boosting
How does pausing work? Do I lose my credits?
Pausing is available when you go Monthly. If you're anticipating a slow month, just let us know in advance that you wish to pause your plan. You will not be billed, and you will not gain credits that month.
Any existing credits in your account will be waiting for you when you come back.
How does boosting a month work?
Boosting is available when going Monthly. If you need more done than usual, you can temporarily upgrade to bigger pack. Here's a scenario:
It's October and you're on the {{3-name}} tier. You know a major campaign is coming up, so you boost November to the {{4-name}} tier for a fee. In December, you're back on the {{3-name}} tier.
Are there limits to pausing & boosting?
Boosts and Pauses become available on your third month in a monthly plan. After that, pause up to 3 times and boost up to 4 times per calendar year.
They need to be communicated before the billing cycle you wish to pause or boost starts. You can't chain boosts or pauses.
Changing Monthly Packs
Can I upgrade or downgrade?
Of course. The price of all plans are locked in when you sign up.
If you notice your needs scaling over time, you can upgrade to a larger plan at the same price as it was when you signed up. Same if you need a downgrade.
You can upgrade or downgrade once per calendar year.
What's the difference between boosting and upgrading?
Boosting is best for temporary spikes. You boost an upcoming month to a larger plan, then automatically return to your original plan at your locked-in rate the following month.
Upgrading makes sense when your baseline workload increases. You move to a bigger plan, and can only upgrade or downgrade next year.
How do I cancel a plan if I don't like it?
Of course! You can cancel at any time after a 2-month commitment. You can do it on your own without having to request a cancellation from us.
Due to the high quality nature of the work, we don't issue refunds after the first week of purchasing a one-time pack or starting a plan.
